CORHAMPTON’S Scott Gregory is aiming for success this year, and hopes his friendship with regular England A room-mate and practice partner Ben Amor will help him flourish out on the golf course.
The pair produced an impressive partnership in the quadrangular match at Costa Ballena against Germany, Finland and hosts Spain.
The friendship struck up with Wiltshire’s Amor during Gregory’s early weeks with the A squad last year is certainly helping Gregory continue his march towards his goal of turning professional and having a crack at the European Tour.

“We both enjoy testing ourselves and pushing ourselves so we can push each other quite hard, both on the course and in the gym.
“There’s always an element of competition between us which has kept us competitive during the winter,” he added.
“And we’ve had a winter series going on when we meet up and play and practice.
“We’ve met up maybe once or twice a month over the winter period as he stays at his girlfriend’s in Winchester at the weekend.
“We played a lot of practice rounds together last year as well.
“We see things very similarly out on the course so there is very little conflict about what shot to play, which is a secret of good foursomes play.”
