THE LADIES’ section of Petersfield Golf Club have held their ladies’ club championships, which for the first time was held over two consecutive days instead of 36 holes in one day.

The winner of the championship salver was Sue Gray with a gross score 176 after having to go down the 18th twice as at the end of 18 holes she was tied with Lesley Eaton.

They managed to tie the 18th on the first try but Sue managed to just pip Lesley who came second with a gross score of 176.

The 18-hole Handicap Cup was won by Jennifer Neal with a net score of 144. Jenny Ashby was second with a net score of 146.

The 18-hole Cup was won by Fiona Maxwell with a net score of 70. Brenda Vangrove was second with a net score of 73.

In a foundation brooch medal event on July 1, Lesley Davies won division one with a net score of 77, and Jo Morgan who division two with a net score of 79.

The same competition was also played on July 4.

Jenny Whidbourne was first with a net score of 65, Sue Gray was second with a net score of 67, and Rona Mitchell was third with a net score of 71.
