PETERSFIELD Golf Club’s senior section have been keeping themselves busy.

On June 16, 72 seniors from 21 clubs entered the Petersfield Seniors’ Open competition. The 24 teams consisting of three visitors and one Petersfield senior played a team stableford competition with three scores to count on each hole.

North Hants Stoics from North Hants, with Roy Passingham from Petersfield, were first on countback with 124 points. Baron’s Bandits from Hindhead and Old Thorns, with Baron Howell from Petersfield, were second with 124 points.

Ryde Tweakers from Ryde, with Richard Vardy from Petersfield, were third on countback with 123 points.

The best visitor was Brian Fagg from the Army Golf Club with 47 points.

The best Petersfield player was Ian Hewlett with 43 points.

The best front nine was won by Bob Musker from Petersfield, with 22 points, on countback.

The best back nine was won by John O’Rourke from Petersfield, with 21 points, on countback.

The nearest to the pin on 13th hole was Eric Udal from Meon Valley.

The nearest the pin with their second shot on 18th hole was Bob Willox from the Army.
