PETERSFIELD Golf Club’s senior section have been keeping themselves busy.

On Thursday, November 17, 64 members competed in the annual turkey trot stableford competition. John Dunmall was first with 40 points, Steve Cann was second on countback with 39 points, and Geoff Southgate was third with 39 points.

The competition was followed by the senior section’s annual general meeting and prizegiving, at which outgoing captain, Terry Roach, welcomed the new captain for the next year, Tim Allen.

Terry thanked the outgoing committee members for their contribution during his year, with special mention for Mike Peyser who was leaving the committee after more than 15 years of service.

Terry also presented a cheque for £1,445.07 to Sarah Hudson, the regional organiser for the charity Naomi House and Jack’s Place, the charity Terry had nominated for monies raised during his year as captain.

On Thursday, November 24, 50 members played a pairs greensome stableford competition for the St Andrews Trophy.

John Major and Jeremy Hawton were first with 40 points, Tony Robinson and Richard Perry were second with 39 points, and John Speirs and Steve Cann were third with 38 points.

On Thursday, December 1, members competed in the Monthly Medal, which was played from the blue tees in frosty conditions. John Dunmall was first with a net score of 70, David Dunglinson was second with a net score of 72, and John Curgenven was third with a net score of 74.
