PETERSFIELD Golf Club’s senior section have been keeping themselves busy.
Fifty seniors entered the Carmichael Quaiche, a stableford competition that used the Pinehurst format. David Dungleson and Richard Perry were first with 44 points, John Dunmall and Baron Howell were second with 43 points, and Derek Harrison and Terry Roach were third with 42 points. Fifty seniors entered the Over-70s Trophy, a stableford competition from the yellow tees. Ron Saurin won the trophy with 39 points, Derek Mustchin was second with 38 points, and Jeremy Hawton was third on countback with 37 points.
The home match against the Army Sartoriuns went ahead but had to be abandoned as the course flooded and became unplayable.
The away game at Corhampton also started but was abandoned after nine holes due to the weather and course condition.
