GOODWOOD is currently looking for enthusiastic, reliable and dynamic volunteers for a variety of positions at the 2016 motor sport events – the 74th Members’ Meeting (March 19-20), Festival of Speed (June 23-26) and Revival (September 9-11).
Volunteers will be an integral part of these motor sport events and are free to enjoy all of the action outside of shift times. Parking and lunch is provided, while those living more than 30 miles from Goodwood will be offered camping facilities.
Staged every summer since 1993, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the world’s largest automotive garden party; set against the spectacular backdrop of Goodwood House in West Sussex. More than 600 cars and motorcycles spanning the history of motoring and motor sport take part with some of the most legendary figures from the sport as well as international celebrities regularly attending.
Goodwood Revival began in 1998 and is the world’s largest historic motor racing and vintage culture event, with a sell-out crowd of nearly 150,000 attending in period clothing each year. Held at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, the only motor sport venue on the planet to remain preserved in its original form, the Revival attracts visitors, racers and celebrities from all over the world.
The Goodwood 74th Members’ Meeting is a new style of motor racing event, conceived by Lord March to recreate the atmosphere and camaraderie of the original BARC Members’ Meetings held ‘in period’ at Goodwood through the 1950s and 1960s. The Members’ Meeting also has a full programme of racing.
If you are interested in contributing to Goodwood motor sport events throughout 2016 and wish to know more about the variety of roles available, e-mail [email protected] before Monday, January 4, 2016. E-mails should include reasons why you wish to volunteer, which events you are available for and if you are over 25 with a full, clean UK driving licence. Due to the nature of their events, Goodwood are unable to have volunteers under the age of 18.
