AFTER midweek rain, the Heath looked good, but the wicket was to prove significantly slower than normal, which created a tremendously tense game that ebbed and flowed, both sides having opportunities to win.

The Bedhampton openers made a watchful start before an impressive direct hit from mid-off by Ash Spencer ran out Dan Clark.

Positive strokeplay from Ben De Jong and Martyn Hovey accelerated the score to 137, but Bedhampton were pegged back by Keith Gumbe (4-30).

As wickets tumbled Bedhampton were restricted to 40 runs off the last ten overs, finishing on 189-7....
