THE SKY Surfing Club’s annual summer social attracted around 20 club members, with the promise of home-made pizza and entertainments.

Members relaxed, mingled and swapped tales, away from flying and the busy hilltop.

Club social secretary John Kirby hosted the event in his spacious garden, the impressive brick pizza oven being a big attraction. This was the first “off-duty” occasion that pilots and partners have had to meet up since the pandemic began. John said: “It was wonderful to see our friends again.”

A large quantity of pizza was consumed and John proved the all-round host by schooling a few on the table football. To complete the evening, a collection among the revellers raised £100 for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
