SO CLOSE but yet so far – that was the feeling the Rams were left with after losing to Conference South side Havant and Waterlooville in the final of the Portsmouth Senior Cup on Monday night.

Petersfield can consider themselves unlucky after battling back from being 2-0 down at half time, to levelling the scores and almost going on to claim a famous victory.

In the end Havant's Conference South experience proved to be the difference between the two sides – and in particular the performance of their striker Jonathan Hooper.

The Hawks grabbed the initiative after only four minutes when they won a free kick on the edge of the box....
