THE 281ST running of Queen Elizabeth Country Park Parkrun on Saturday saw 101 people run, jog and walk the course.

Twenty-eight were first timers, nine new personal bests and representatives of 24 running clubs took part.

James Lewington was the first male finisher this week, and he crossed the line in a time of 17min 50secs.

The first female runner home was Marie Pollitt. She finished in 39th place overall in a time of 26min 48secs.

Harry Haynes was the highest placed junior runner in the field for the second week running, and he finished in 17th place overall in a new personal best time of 22min 13secs.

Nicholas Minter completed his 100th Parkrun and 50th at Queen Elizabeth Country Park on Saturday, and visitor Joanna Gulliver completed her 50th Parkrun.

The event was made possible by 15 volunteers who helped out on the day – they were: Dwayne Bartram, Graham Clarke, Mark Grandy, Martin Groom, Madeline Hawke, Giles Hawke, Melanie Hunt, Penny Johnstone, Ian Kitchen, Iwona Kwidzynska, Nicholas Minter, John Roberts, Tanya Roberts, Pippa White and Harriet White.
