Blackfield & Langley 2:

HORNDEAN slipped to a close defeat at home to Blackfield and Langley in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday (March 28).

The two teams were level at half time at 0-0, but second-half goals from Nicholas Taylor and Daniel Munday gave the visitors the three points.

Gavin Spurway was on target for the Five Heads Park outfit.

Horndean manager Dave Carter said: "Lyall Beazley kept us in the game in the first 15 minutes, but then we settled into the game. I was disappointed with the two goals we conceded, and to be honest we were a bit sluggish."

The Deans travel to Follands Park to face Folland Sports on Saturday (3pm), before making the short trip to Love Lane on Easter Monday to face Petersfield Town (3pm).

Carter said: "Derbies can go either way. Ian Saunders has done a fantastic job and put a decent side together that looks like it'll get promoted."
