Petersfield Ladies 0 Trojans Ladies IV 2: PETERSFIELD Ladies were missing some key players for their match against Trojans.

Both sides started brightly during an even start to the match.

Trojans then wore down the Petersfield defence and won a short corner. This was converted to give the visitors a 1-0 lead at half time.

In the second half Peterfield put the away side under a lot more pressure.

With Trojans now under siege, Petersfield managed to gain three short corners in the second half, from which Sinclair and Beaton were narrowly denied goals.

Cullen then went on a run up the right wing and was denied only by a strong interception.

Against the run of play the visitors strung some passes together, and Jones was unable to stop the deflected strike which put Trojans 2-0 up.

Petersfield responded well and Hegan’s strike into the D enabled Bardoe to tip the ball over the line. The goal was disallowed, though, because of a Petersfield infringement outside the D.

The home side continued to fight hard, but it was the visitors who were celebrating at the final whistle.
