FOUR Petersfield Triathlon Club members took part in the Bolton Iron Man.
Roy Matthews came 29th in his category in 13hr, 13min and 07secs, Paul Hawes was 22nd in his in 15hr, 01min and 06secs and Sandra Sellis was eighth in her category in 14hr, 18min and 14secs.
Rowena Rogers completed the swim and 66 miles of the bike ride, but stopped as she calculated she would not make the cut off time.
Julie Gadsden took part in a race in Monifieth which was a qualifier for the 2020 European Sprint Championships in Malmo. She finished fifth in the women’s 65-69 age group but it wasn’t enough to reach Malmo.
Josh Lahiri has qualified for his first age group World Championships in Edmonton, Canada, next summer after his success at the Leeds Castle Triathlon.
At the Chichester Triathlon, Emily Lillywhite Iredale was the first female home in the Olympic distance in 2hr, 15 min and 08secs. Toby Clay finished in 2hr, 10min and 50secs and was seventh overall and third in his age category. Rachel Stock completed the sprint distance in 1hr, 49min and 50secs and was second in her age category and tenth female.
Lucy Mitchell, who was riding for her cycling club A3crg with Angela Carpenter and Kirsty McSeveney, broke the national record on the A3 for a 30-mile team time trial.
They needed to beat 3hr 33mins between them.
Carpenter finished in 1hr, 05min and 31secs, McSeveney finished in 1hr, 09min and 21secs and Mitchell in 1hr, 13min and 20secs.
