PETERSFIELD Hockey Club’s men’s third team secured their sixth win of the season in a game of starkly contrasting halves, beating Isle of Wight’s men’s second team 4-3.
Despite being off the pace, second to every 50-50 and producing sloppy passing in the first half, Petersfield were dominant, confident and clinical in the second.
The visitors won a series of short corners early on. After 16 minutes, a short-corner strike was stopped on the line by Ali Macintyre’s foot. A penalty stroke was awarded, with Macintyre lucky to stay on the pitch. The stroke was calmly slotted past Charlie Weller.
Minutes later Petersfield sloppily conceded possession and paid the price with another goal for the visitors.

The home team continued to dominate and levelled the scores from a slick short-corner routine. Rich Thompson returned the ball to injector Ben White, who slapped firmly past the keeper.
