Petersfield Ladies 0 Havant Ladies III 1: PETERSFIELD Ladies faced a home match against Havant Ladies’ third team on Saturday.

Petersfield took the first push back and composed themselves well, holding possession up and passing the ball around.

It was a well-matched contest early on as the game flowed from end to end.

Both teams created chances but were unable to break the deadlock.

Petersfield goalkeeper Pearson made a number of fine saves from well-placed shots, and the scores were level at 0-0 at half time.

As the second half got under way the home side pushed higher up the pitch as they looked for the opening goal.

Petersfield struggled to link the play though, allowing a number of chances and balls through to roll off the base line.

The home side were awarded some short corners, but good saves by the Havant goalkeeper keeper and a few failed connections stopped Petersfield getting onto the scoreboard.

As the minutes on the clock ticked away Havant kept up their intensity.

A gap opened up in the home side’s defence and with five minutes to go Havant scored the only goal of the match to secure their victory.

Petersfield had kept command of the ball for the majority of the game, but they had to accept the defeat.

Petersfield Ladies will hope to return to winning ways this weekend when they travel to Waterside.
