Rushmoor Community under-14 Meteors 2 Liss Athletic under-14 Firebolts 3: RUSHMOOR made a strong start and created plenty of chances.

Eventually their pressure worked and the striker lifted the ball over the Liss keeper. Rushmoor went 2-0 up moments later after a run down the right wing which resulted in a half-volley into the Liss goal. Liss pulled a goal back a few minutes later after it broke to Hunt who placed it in the back of the net. Despite dominating possession Rushmoor couldn’t get another goal and the half ended with the home side 2-1 up.

Liss came out stronger after half time and possession evened out, although Rushmoor still had some chances and a chip from their striker clipped the outside of the Liss post. Five minutes from time Liss won a free kick and Brindley’s delivery was sent over the line by Hunt for his and Liss’ second goal. With seconds left on the clock Cains made a strong tackle and released the ball for Hunt. The ball returned to Broadley, who slotted home into the corner to win the game for Liss and keep their promotion hopes alive.
