LISS youngster Finney Coomber has enjoyed some impressive results in several cross country competitions.
Racing in the under-11s Coomber, who is 11 years old, has come overall second (by one point) in the Wessex League, which covers club athletes from Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire. She also had a podium finish in every race.
Coomber then won the bronze medal last Saturday in the Hampshire County Championships at Fairborne Manor, despite being ill at the time. She also won gold for the team event.
At the end of this month Coomber will compete in the southern regional finals, and in February she will compete in the national finals in Leeds.
In both the southern regional finals and the national finals Coomber, who competes for City of Portsmouth Athletic Club, will be competing in an above age category as an under-13 runner.
