Winchester Ladies III 1 Petersfield Ladies II 4: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ second team are slowly gaining momentum in their new division.

The team travelled to Winchester hoping for another strong performance. Petersfield had first push back and immediately went on the attack.

The team created several chances in the attacking circle, but were not able to get close enough to the goal to score. After ten minutes midfielder Clare made an accurate pass to Purkiss, who passed the ball past the keeper.

Winchester retaliated quickly when they broke through the defence and gained a penalty corner, which was cleanly hit into the left corner.

Centre forward O’Kelly did not allow the hosts to savour the equaliser for long and put Petersfield ahead once again.

Petersfield completely dominated the second half. O’Kelly scored a fine goal from Sinclair’s pass, although O’Kelly was denied her hat-trick when the Winchester goalie tripped her up. Bardoe, who was playing her first match for the seconds, was alert enough to finish the job and make it 4-1.

Petersfield goalkeeper Coyte dealt with two Winchester attacks as the visitors sealed a 4-1 win.
