Hawkley v Droxford

HAWKLEY batted first in a rain-affected match reduced to 30 overs-a-side.

Ed Peel scored at his usual rapid rate, hitting a six and four fours before being caught off Lambert's bowling for 30. Fellow opener Viv Evans also played an attacking innings, striking seven boundaries while scoring 35.

Lambert ran through Hawkley's upper order in a spell which brought five wickets for 24 runs.

Scott Clarke and Clive Hopkin rebuilt the innings with a patient stand which took the hosts to 142-8....
