FOLLOWING success in the previous qualifying rounds, Dan Johnson from Petersfield, travelled up to Birmingham to compete in the National Schools' Finals, representing South Downs College in the under-19s disability elite category.
Johnson showed composure and held his nerve to produce a personal best with his routines, his second of which had a high degree of difficulty involving nine somersaults, leaving little margin for error.
As the scores were read out, the celebrations began for Johnson, as he become a national champion.
Johnson trains at Alton Trampoline Club, and was competing alongside fellow club members Alex Tassier and Robert Tassier, who were competing in the under-11 and under-14 disability categories....
