Several members of the Petersfield-based Sky Surfing Club enjoyed a trip to the coast, to a line of small cliffs bordering Southampton Water.

Russell Winters said: “The forecast suggested there was a small window for playtime. It turned out to be more suitable for small paraglider wings because of the wind strength, but it’s always a good day if you’re out.”

Also enjoying the conditions was Petersfield resident Scott Heffield, who said: “Everyone was enjoying the gentle breeze coming in from the Solent.

“In the early afternoon the stronger winds forced some to fly their smaller mini-wings, but later on conditions mellowed allowing most pilots to opt for their large wings – spending a good few hours floating effortlessly along the sea cliffs.”
