Petersfield 1 Yateley 1: PETERSFIELD welcomed Yateley to their home ground, at Bedales, after a successful fixture the previous week against Basingstoke that led to victory.

Petersfield were aiming to add another early victory to their league campaign.

Yateley started well and found the net with their first attack to take the lead.

The goal fired Petersfield up and Yateley found themselves on the receiving end of a bombardment of attacks from all angles, yet the visitors managed to keep all efforts out as their goalkeeper pulled off a number of impressive saves.

Petersfield continued to attack and forward Harris picked his spot during a penalty corner routine to level the scores before the break.

Keeper Smith was called into action in the first half during defensive penalty corner routines and consistently put a strong glove or foot through the ball, clearing to safety.

The home side created chances in the second half and Hughes-Stanton was inches away from a long cross from Gray.

Yateley won more penalty corners in the second half, although Petersfield managed to hold out despite at times being reduced to ten men due to sinbins.

Left back Alder swept a ball off the line in Yateley’s best attack as the match finished all square.

Petersfield travel away to Gillingham on Saturday. Gillingham have won two of their first three fixtures, while Petersfield have won one, drawn one and lost one match this season.
