Andover II 0 Petersfield 7: ON A sunny afternoon, struggling Andover hosted mid-table Petersfield.
Petersfield immediately took control despite the best efforts of the Andover team.
The visitors created space and then exploited it with pace before cutting into the attacking circle.
Petersfield reaped the rewards from good team play as Harris (2) and Alder put their mark on the scoreboard.
Andover had their closest attempts at goal denied by a triple save from goalkeeper Ross, allowing the visitors to remain in complete control at half time.
Petersfield found the goal immediately from the restart as Edney deflected the ball into the top right corner from a lifted reverse shot at goal from Hind within the opening minute.
Hind grabbed himself two goals to add to his assist, and his first goal came when he deflected Bacon’s cross past the defender after Edwards was taken down by the goalkeeper. Hind then claimed his second goal when he pounced on the rebound from an initial stick save.
Andover did manage to create a handful of chances for themselves.
The home side’s pressure led to some chaotic defending from Petersfield as Andover overloaded the circle, yet Petersfield’s clearances kept the home side away from the goal.
Petersfield broke down all of Andover’s penalty corners and then countered and completed the scoring for the day with a goal from Edwards, inflicting further damage to the scoreline which concluded at 7-0.
