Bournemouth II 7 Petersfield 1: PETERSFIELD travelled to a Bournemouth side who were flying high in the table and building a strong title challenge.

Petersfield came off second best in the match, with Bournemouth’s clinical finishing proving to be the difference between the two sides.

Petersfield created a handful of one-on-one opportunities, yet the calm and experienced Bournemouth goalkeeper denied all of the away team’s attempts.

The Bournemouth defence were able to break down the majority of penalty corners that Petersfield won, yet the home side were unable to stop Grinstead sweeping a rebound off the post and into the goal.

Clay nearly scored for Petersfield scoreline when his penalty flick attempt went an inch past the post.

Bournemouth were able to take full advantage of the missed chances and slotted home a deflection by the back post and made light work of overloads towards goal to win the match 7-1.

Petersfield fell to sixth place in the Hampshire Division 1 table after the defeat, and they face a trip to second-placed City of Portsmouth on Saturday.
