IN A pulsating Ash Trophy cup final, played in heavy rain and gales on Sunday morning (March 29), Petersfield Girls Youth were edged out and lost on penalties to an impressive Tadley side.

The away side scored a fine free kick to lead at half time, and just as the game seemed to be slipping away from Petersfield, Arnold scored an equaliser to take the game to extra time.

Widgery almost scored for Petersfield with an impressive solo run, but still the sides remained locked at 1-1.

That led to the match going to penalties, and Tadley held their nerve to win the cup 4-3 on penalties.
