PETERSFIELD gymnast Anna Bridge made her mark at the British Gymnastics Team Apparatus Championships, winning silver on bars on Remembrance Sunday.

Bridge (13) was selected to be part of the South of England regional team to perform routines on uneven bars, floor and beam.

She went into the competition with a new bars routine that includes all the key moves for a senior top level gymnast.

Bridge performed the routine well and gained an impressive score, which gained her the silver medal.

She also provided the top scores for her team on bars and beam.

The achievement was all the more impressive as Bridge was one of the youngest gymnasts competing at the championships.

She competed against top senior girls, aged 16 years old and over, from the different regions of the United Kingdom, as well as competing against junior, aged 14 years old and over, Great Britain squad members.

Bridge is now looking forward to developing her routines further for the English Championships in the spring.

The silver medal at the British Gymnastics Team Apparatus Championships continues what has been a very good year for Bridge, who is a member of Portsmouth Gymnastics Club and has won many medals at various levels.

Earlier this year she won silver overall, gold on beam and silver on bars in the under-15 women’s category at the 21st Attila Pinter Memorial International Youth Cup in Innsbruck, Austria.
