A WOMEN’S running club in Petersfield is inviting local residents to join them on a 5km run at Petersfield Heath on May 13 to help Make May Purple for the Stroke Association.

The club, named the Runnyhoneys, was created to help women in the area enjoy running and get active. For the past four years the club has supported the Stroke Association’s national awareness month Make May Purple.

Running leader Sue Browne said: “We love supporting the Stroke Association every year.

“Many members from our club have been touched in some way by stroke, so it continues to be a charity that resonates with our runners.

“Some of our runners have additionally raised money this year by running races for the Stroke Association at the Southampton Marathon, the Great South Run and the Manchester Marathon.

“The Stroke Association is a cause that’s close to all our hearts.

“Knowing that the funds we’ll raise will help other families affected by stroke spurs us on across the finish line.”

The run is open to all ages. To book a place visit: www.fullonsport.com/event/peef-heath-5k-2018/profile
