Fleet & Ewshot 1 Petersfield 1: PETERSFIELD faced ninth-placed Fleet and Ewshot in their 14th game of the season, and they were hoping to claim three points to mount pressure on league leaders Basingstoke.

Petersfield were missing a handful of first-team regulars, but they started strongly and created a handful of early chances. Fleet then held possession and took control of the game, frustrating Field as they struggled to play their style of hockey. The hosts were gifted a handful of penalty corners and took the lead 1-0. Petersfield immediately picked their heads up and looked alive once more. A Harding cross from the left saw Edwards deflect the ball to the top right-hand corner past a stunned keeper to level the scores before the break.

Fleet continued to take control of the game in the second half and created many chances, leaving Petersfield to rely on keeper Ross, who prevented the hosts from regaining the lead. Petersfield had two goals saved on the line by the Fleet defence. Field began to get heavily frustrated as possession on the ball was squandered by many, and fouls caused visits to the sin-bin for three players at varying times. Petersfield still tested the Fleet keeper, yet neither team could find a winning goal before the final whistle was blown.

Third-placed Fareham lost their fixture, allowing Petersfield to extend the points difference with an additional fixture in hand.
