PETERSFIELD Ladies returned to Bedales on Saturday to play against United Services Portsmouth Ladies.

Petersfield won their previous fixture earlier in the season 5-2. They won the toss this time out and opted for the first pushback.

The first five minutes was filled with Petersfield putting pressure on the visiting defence. The home side won a short corner and took the lead when Hedges’ effort found the back of the goal.

The visitors soon got themselves back on level terms, but Petersfield regained the lead when Hedges deflected the ball in to make it 2-1.

As the game progressed, Petersfield found the rhythm between the team and were able to string together first-time passes across the pitch.

Eames drove the ball right and as she was tracked down by a defender she drew the ball left and whipped her stick around the reverse to hit the ball into the back of the net. Petersfield led 3-1 at half time.

The fourth goal arrived when Leach drove into the D. The keeper saved Leach’s effort and the deflection fell nicely for Day, who wasted no time and powered it into the backboard to make it 4-1.

The fifth goal arrived when Easton ran into the D and hit a shot past the goalkeeper’s outstretched right kicker.

Easton scored the sixth goal when she hit the ball into the right-hand side of the goal.

Hedges completed the scoring when she scored her third goal to make it 7-1.
