Trojans Ladies IV 1 Petersfield Ladies 2: PETERSFIELD Ladies played away to Trojans Ladies’ fourth team on Saturday.
Petersfield won the coin toss and opted for the first push back.
Both sides were close to each other in the Hampshire Division 3 (Women) table, and Petersfield opted to start on the offensive and attack their hosts.
Making plenty of circle entries, the visitors put lots of pressure on Trojans.
This week saw the return of Sinclair to the Petersfield team, who made a strong addition to the attacking drive.
Trojans won a short corner in the first half, and converted their chance to take the lead.
However, on the re-start, Petersfield drove forward and Sinclair secured the equaliser within two minutes to level the scores.
In the second half Petersfield kept up their intensity.
Presnell was used effectively as the visitors held the majority of the possession and controlled the play.
Petersfield then won their third short corner, and a change of tactics to confuse the runners proved successful as the ball was injected to O’Kelly on the left, and she fed the ball back to Bardoe, who found Sinclair waiting to hit the ball into the back of the net.
Petersfield kept possession for the remainder of the game, and pulled together as a team to see out the rest of the match and earn a 2-1 win.
This Saturday Petersfield Ladies will entertain Andover Ladies’ second team at Dunhurst School (12pm).
