Petersfield Ladies 2 Havant Ladies 3a 0: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ first team expected a challenging match against Havant.

A composed and disciplined Havant team came out strongly at the beginning of the match and put a tremendous amount of pressure on the Petersfield defence.

However, the Petersfield back line of Crewe, Martin, Sinclair, Llewelyn and keeper May kept the Havant team at bay for the first 20 minutes of the game.

Petersfield cleared the ball off the line and successfully defended a number of short corners.

In the latter part of the first half Petersfield became more composed and structured in their play.

Eaton took charge of the midfield and started to distribute the ball well, and this paid dividends when a pass from Eaton reached Sinclair.

Sinclair out skilled the Havant defenders in the circle and slotted the ball into the goal to give Petersfield a 1-0 lead at half time.

Havant and Petersfield were both striving to score at the start of the second half.

When Havant attacked the Petersfield defenders intercepted the ball to stop Havant scoring, and when Petersfield attacked the Havant circle forwards Hedges, Simmons and Sinclair all had shots on goal cleared away.

Llewelyn then intercepted the ball from a Havant free hit and weaved left and right around the defenders and smashed the ball into the goal to double Petersfield’s lead.

Petersfield won the game 2-0 to seal their fifth victory in a row and continue their impressive form.
