Petersfield Ladies 3 Fareham Ladies III 1: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ first team earned a convincing 3-1 win against Fareham Ladies’ third team.
The ladies made their way on to the pitch with three players making their debuts.
The team started with a big push from the off and immediately took control of possession, resulting in the first goal for O’Kelly within the first seven minutes of the match.
The ball was then kept high up the pitch for the remainder of the first half, with good wide passes from Forrest to Beaton and consistent defensive support from Todd, Llewellyn and Presnell. It was a confident start from Petersfield with plenty of chances, but the second goal proved elusive with shots hitting the post and not the backboard.
Despite an energetic talk at half time Petersfield started the second half slowly. An easy goal was conceded in the first minute of the second half, forcing the home side to wake up.
Petersfield responded well and a pass down the wing to Hegan allowed her to open up her stride and get behind the defence. Supported by O’Kelly and Hedges, Petersfield scored their second goal.
The opportunities kept coming as Leach pressed high on the left wing and consistently pressurised the back line. Petersfield kept their intensity high and made it 3-1 near the end of the match. A deflected ball went across the goal, and Hegan took it from the sky and smashed it past the keeper and into the net.
