Yateley Ladies II 5 Petersfield Ladies 1: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ first team travelled away to Yateley on Saturday.

Petersfield knew they faced a tough game as Yateley sat at the top of the league before the game.

Both teams pressed each other high up the pitch early on and the game started very evenly as play travelled up and down the pitch for the first 15 minutes.

Petersfield held their possession with some composed transfers around the D, waiting for chances to feed the ball to their forwards.

The hosts took the lead when they built an attack up their left and scored a one-on-one against Petersfield goalkeeper Pearson.

Yateley then went on another attack and scored again to double their lead.

Petersfield stayed composed and pulled a goal back with a fine team effort. Building from the back, Anderson cleared the ball from danger to Forrest in the centre. O’Kelly received the ball under heavy pressure and slipped it back to Presnell.

Presnell saw an opening and slapped the ball into the D towards the back post were J Bardo perfectly angled a deflection to slip the ball past the keeper. Petersfield trailed 2-1 at half time.

Petersfield’s lack of substitutes proved telling in the second half, as the home side kept up their energy levels.
