Petersfield Ladies 6 Haslemere Ladies III 2: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ first team hosted Haslemere Ladies’ third team in their final league match of the season on Saturday.

Haslemere won a penalty flick less than two minutes into the game. Petersfield’s keeper read the flick well but the ball just skimmed past her foot as the visitors opened the scoring.

Petersfield equalised when Jas Sinclair injected a penalty corner to her sister Jen Sinclair at the top of the D, and she hammered the ball home to make it 1-1.

The hosts took the lead when Jen Sinclair took the ball along the baseline and slipped it to Wilson on the back post for a simple tap in.

Petersfield pressed on in the second half but they were temporarily a player down when Bardo had to go off for ice. The home side went 3-1 up when Jen Sinclair hit the ball past the keeper’s outstretched leg and into the goal.

Wilson then got the ball on the halfway line and beat two defenders before confidently slapping the ball under the keeper’s foot and into the back of the goal.

Haslemere then pulled a goal back to make it 4-2, but Petersfield responded well. Bardo’s strike was well-saved but the deflection from the goalie found Jen Sinclair who flicked it into the back of the net for a hat-trick.

Petersfield scored their sixth goal when Easton deflected the ball into the goal.

The match finished 6-2 to Petersfield and the ladies finished in sixth place in the Hampshire Division 3 (Women) table.
