Petersfield Ladies II 1 West Meon Ladies 5: THE SUN was out for Petersfield Hockey Club’s Ladies’ second team’s first league match of the season against West Meon Ladies’ first team.

The Petersfield team showed fight from the beginning, but West Meon also came out fighting and put the Petersfield defenders under plenty of pressure.

O’Kelly made some impressive saves and Todd, Stockley and Sands kept clearing the ball from the D, but it was soon 2-0 to the visitors.

After two one-on-ones with the goalie by O’Kelly and Purkiss, O’Kelly managed to score in the top right corner to make it 2-1.

Petersfield’s heads were up and positive at half time.

However, despite solid performances from Lowe, L Rymer and Faulkner, the final score was 5-1 to West Meon.
