Gosport Borough Ladies II 0 Petersfield Ladies II 6: AFTER taken three matches to record their first victory in 2017, Petersfield Ladies’ second team were keen to carry on their winning ways and travelled to Gosport.

Sustained pressure led to Petersfield’s first goal as O’Kelly finally put the ball through the keeper’s legs.

Eddy and Clare in the midfield distributed the ball well and worked hard, tracking back to limit Gosport’s attacking opportunities.

Petersfield then got their second as Rymer came in from the wing and her powerful strike deflected in off a Gosport defender.

Llewelyn junior and Sinclair also pressed forward at pace and spread the ball wide to give the Petersfield forwards the space they needed to keep creating chances.

Towards the end of the first half Llewelyn senior played a perfect through ball to O’Kelly, cutting out the defence, leaving her to just control the ball round the keeper and score goal number three.

After half time Purkiss and Rymer continued to exploit the width as Gosport packed the middle of the pitch and top D, and O’Kelly completed her hat-trick, scoring at the left post.

The Petersfield defence had a fairly comfortable match, allowing Preston to push forward more and more, and a lovely diagonal ball from her into the D gave Eddy the chance to put away Petersfield’s fifth goal.

The final goal came when Clare stopped the ball perfectly from a penalty corner, allowing O’Kelly a clean strike for her fourth and Petersfield’s sixth goal.
