Isle of Wight Ladies II 1 Petersfield Ladies II 2: PETERSFIELD Hockey Club’s Ladies’ second team earned a crucial win away at the Isle of Wight Ladies’ second team on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams are fighting to avoid relegation, so Petersfield’s players knew it was an important match.

Petersfield only had ten players, but they started well with good breaks from the Bardoe girls, Lowe and Hoe.

After numerous shots on goal L Rymer finally smashed the ball across the line to give the visitors the lead.

Several short corners were awarded to Petersfield, however none were converted.

Late on in the first half the visitors broke well and Lowe converted a cross to double Petersfield’s advantage and make the score 2-0 at half time.

The Isle of Wight fought back hard in the second half and scored from a well worked move to make it 2-1.

The visitors started to tire but they kept on fighting until the end with fine defending from Bradley, S Rymer and Cuthell.

Petersfield walked away with a well-deserved 2-1 win to ease their relegation fears.
