Petersfield Ladies II 0 Basingstoke Ladies IV 5: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ second team faced a strong mid-table Basingstoke Ladies’ fourth team on Saturday.

The home side were hoping to earn a well-needed win, but Basingstoke scored an early goal to catch the Petersfield team off guard.

Basingstoke continued to impress and scored two more goals, but sterling defence from Stokely, Todd, Sands and Bradley kept the score to 3-0 at half time.

Petersfield fought back in the second half with good breaks from O’Kelly, Hedges and Pattie, but none of these breaks were converted into goals.

Basingstoke scored a further two hard-hit goals to give themselves a commanding 5-0 lead. Petersfield kept fighting until the end, and Hoe impressed throughout the game with excellent defensive and attacking work. The home side had produced a solid performance, but were beaten by a far stronger side.
