Petersfield Ladies II 0 Aldershot & Farnham Ladies IV 2: PETERSFIELD’S ladies’ second team lost 2-0 against Aldershot and Farnham Ladies’ fourth team on Saturday.
Aldershot and Farnham won a series of short corners in the first half, the first of which was cleared by Jenny Cuthell when the visitors looked certain to score.
The pressure told though, with two goals coming from short corners in the last five minutes of the half. The second came a few seconds before the end of the half, when the ball was passed round the D before finding an unmarked visiting player at the back post for a simple tap in.
The second half was tightly contested with Debbie Geer and Zoe Simmonds linking up well to create a number of openings for Petersfield.
The home side pushed for a goal to get back into the game, which left more gaps at the back for Aldershot and Farnham to exploit. A goal-line clearance from Joanne Jones and some sharp saves from Carys Pearson near the end prevented any further goals.
