Petersfield Ladies II 2 Basingstoke Ladies IV 2: PETERSFIELD were all too aware that Basingstoke had knocked the top team off first place last week and were prepared with a strong side.

Basingstoke started strongly and the two sides were equally matched. King scored the first goal for Petersfield with a shot from the top of the D.

Petersfield went 2-0 up after the break, as Broome hit the backboard.

Basingstoke did not lose heart and continued to attack. Petersfield were tired and Basingstoke used this to level the scores with two goals in quick succession.

Basingstoke kept attacking and Petersfield had to defend in their own D. Goalie Hart saved several shots from all angles and Lowe cleared one attempt away from the line.

At the final whistle Petersfield were happy to accept a draw against their toughest opposition yet.
