Petersfield Ladies 2 Yateley Ladies II 3: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ first team knew they were facing tough opponents in Yateley Ladies’ second team.

In the first half Yateley took control of the game and attacked the Petersfield defence relentlessly and went 2-0 ahead.

Petersfield settled into their normal attacking formation in the second half and soon pulled a goal back. Powell drove up the left side of the pitch and played the ball off to Simmons. She passed the ball straight back to Powell, who entered the circle, shot and scored.

Captain Ivey then went on a solo run in the last quarter of the pitch. She weaved left and right stepped into the D and smashed the ball into the goal to make it 2-2.

Sinclair and Hedges maintained the pressure on the Yateley defence but they failed to score a goal.

In the last ten minutes of the game Yateley again started to put the Petersfield defence under pressure. The defence cleared several short corners and attempts on goal, but in the last minutes of the game Yateley were awarded a long corner.

The centre half ran at speed into the D, beat a defender and scored to make it 3-2 to the visitors.
