Petersfield Ladies 1 Waterside Ladies 2: PETERSFIELD Ladies produced plenty of attacking play in the first half against Waterside Ladies.

The most significant attack of this period of play saw Ivey, Hedges and Sinclair combine well down the right-hand side of the pitch, and they weaved their way through the Waterside defence before Hedges took the ball into the top of the Waterside D and slammed it into the goal to give the home side the lead.

Petersfield led 1-0 at half time, but they knew they needed to work even harder in the second half to maintain the lead and prevent Waterside from scoring.

Waterside increasingly went on the offensive, and Petersfield’s back line of Sinclair, Llewellyn, Crewe and Kelly were under almost constant pressure.

This pressure from Waterside paid off and half way through the second half they were awarded a short corner which they converted.

Both teams then pushed for a winning goal.

Petersfield’s forwards worked tirelessly and had a number of shots at the Waterside goal, but their attempts were blocked by the Waterside defenders and goalkeeper.

Waterside then broke through the Petersfield defence near the end of the game and scored to earn the visitors a 2-1 victory.

This defeat saw Petersfield slip from second place to third in the Hampshire Division 3 table.

However, Petersfield will regain second place if they win their game in hand.
