Havant Ladies III 4 Petersfield Ladies 0: PETERSFIELD Ladies travelled to Havant Ladies’ third team on Saturday.

Petersfield had to go into the match a player short, and they opted for a defensive starting formation.

Petersfield started well and had their first chance at goal within one minute of the whistle when Hedges took a reverse hit which went past the keeper but hit the post.

The first goal of the game came halfway through the first half as Havant pulled Petersfield wide and used their extra player to overload through the centre. Keeper Jones saved the ball three times before the Havant forward slapped the ball from a tight angle off the left post and the ball chipped up between the keeper’s knee and pad and into the goal.

Petersfield responded well and Easton got a shot away in the D which sped past the keeper’s pad but hit the post.

Havant went on the attack and scored after a scuffle around the goal to go 2-0 ahead before half time.

Petersfield lost a player at half time and were now two players short.

Petersfield conceded three short corners but Todd blocked some shots and the score was still 2-0 with 15 minutes to go.

Petersfield went on the attack, but Havant countered. The ball was stopped on the line by Llewelyn, but a Havant forward got the ball across the line to make it 3-0.

Havant scored their fourth goal when a lifted shot from the edge of the D deflected into the net past the keeper’s stick.
