Petersfield Ladies III 2 Aldershot & Farnham IV 3: ALDERSHOT and Farnham Hockey Club’s ladies’ fourth team set a fast pace from the start and soon scored the first goal of the match.
Petersfield rallied and E Marks and S Bardoe worked tirelessly to rob Aldershot and Farnham of the ball, leading to an equalising goal by L Beate. At the start of the second half Petersfield were slow to get back into their positions, letting another goal through for Aldershot and Farnham. Petersfield picked up the pace and a ball down the line to L Beate and a beautifully timed reverse stick to J Bardoe caught the Aldershot and Farnham keeper and defence off guard, bringing the game level at 2-2. Petersfield had several players who were returning to hockey on the pitch, and Cains, R Marks and Wigginton all brought competitive spirit and commitment to the team. However, the final score was 3-2 to Aldershot and Farnham.
