Petersfield under-15s 24 Alton under-15s 19: PETERSFIELD under-15s got their Hampshire League campaign off to a flying start with a home win against Alton as they maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

Field dominated form the start and Carroll opened the scoring with a solo run to touch down under the posts, Matthews converting.

Burt and Robinson were very much to the fore, seeing plenty of ball and putting in some good runs, only for the Alton defence to hold firm.

A fine scrum from the pack saw a well-worked move and Matthews crashed over, converting his own try.

After initially being blown away, Alton started to come back into the game and their increased physicality saw them start to dominate up front and only some impressive tackles from Tribe prevented them scoring.

Cummings then broke from inside his own half to score an impressive try.

The second half started with Field on top and a well-worked move saw Lee sprint away to touch down in the corner.

Alton’s pack upped their game as Field tired. Some good turnover play from Hickman kept Field in the game as Alton scored two good tries.

Field’s pack upped their game for the last quarter with Cox and Hards to the fore, and Field managed to hold out for a fine win.
