ON A cold, sunny morning at the Anstey playing fields, Petersfield under-16s returned to defend their title from last year.
Field’s first game against Farnham, saw the team play some champagne rugby, scoring nine tries and winning the game 52-5. Next up were Tadley. The lead changed hands constantly during the game with Field ahead at half time. The second half saw Field revert to playing a 15-a-side style of rugby, charging into contact and missing too many tackles. Tadley, however, were more patient and used the outside channels to win the game by one try.
Field’s last pool game was against Alton’s fist team. Field scored first and seemed to be controlling the game until another missed tackle let a pacey winger through to even the score. Field then put the pressure on and scored a second try. However, Alton crossed the line near the end of the game and won by two points.
Field made their way into the plate final where they dominated an Alton team, wining 62-0 by playing some impressive sevens rugby.
