Petersfield 9 Poole 0: PETERSFIELD hosted Poole in their final fixture of the season and they knew a victory would secure second place in Hampshire Division 2 and promotion to Hampshire Division 1.

Petersfield created plenty of chances in the first half and won a number of penalty corners, and Harris helped himself to two goals.

Hughes-Stanton and Atkinson got themselves on the scoresheet with efforts from close range and Petersfield were 4-0 up at half time.

Petersfield were even more clinical in the second half and Atkinson grabbed a further two goals to complete his hat-trick.

Both teams then had players sent to the sin-bin to cool off, but Petersfield scored three more goals when they were back to full strength.

The seventh goal arrived when Hawkins passed the ball to Harris in the attacking left-hand corner of the pitch. Harris picked the ball up at pace, changed direction and then slipped the ball across the face of goal to a diving Hughes-Stanton on the far post, who deflected a fine effort into the net.

Harris was involved again for the eighth goal as his square pass found Hind, who dribbled past the oncoming defender before hammering the ball into the net.

Hind added a second to his name when he collected a clearance from a goalmouth scramble and sent the ball back towards goal and into the net to make it 9-0.

Petersfield then celebrated in style after the final whistle as they secured their fifth promotion in six years in impressive fashion.
