Petersfield Town 3 Cirencester Town 1: PETERSFIELD Town continued their record breaking run in the FA Cup with a fantastic win over Southern Premier Division side Cirencester Town.
This was the second side from the league above that the Rams have knocked out of the competition as they booked their place in the third qualifying round for the very first time.
They made the perfect start when they took the lead on six minutes. Howard Neighbour played the perfect cross field ball into the path of Joe Briggs and he beat a defender and keeper Glyn Garner to the ball to slide it into the net.
The visitors struggled to get into the game during the first half but they made the perfect start to the second period when Charlie Griffin curled his free kick into the net from 25 yards out.
But the home side rallied again and they retook the lead on 62 minutes when Jamie Ford flicked on a corner, Alek Przespolewski headed it back across goal and Neighbour headed the ball home into the top corner.
The visitors pushed forward trying to find an equaliser but Petersfield closed the game out relatively comfortably and sealed the win in the 90th minute when Joe Briggs got the ball on the right, cut inside his marker and buried a low shot into the near corner of the net.
