PETERSFIELD Triathlon Club’s members have achieved some good results.

David Robbins competed in the Bournemouth International Sprint Triathlon, coming third in his age category (over 50). He also did the Race New Forest Standard Triathlon, finishing 25th in 2hr 14mins.

Renaye Hawes competed in her first triathlon at Eton Dorney Lake, near Windsor, after only three months of training, and was first in her age category and sixth lady overall. The race comprised a 200m swim, 5.5km bike ride and a 2.5km run.

Rachel Hampson completed the River Dart 10km swim in 2hr 43mins. Rose Beddington completed the Brighton and Hove Triathlon and won her age category.

Emily Lillywhite Iredale completed the Hever Castle Gauntlet 70.3 Half Iron Man Triathlon in tough conditions. She was the second lady and finished 17th overall.

Toby Clay, Josh Lahiri and Lucy Mitchell completed a British Cycling one mile hill climb time trial up Knights Hill near Goodwood. Mitchell was the second lady home. It is now the season for hill climbs, the next one is on October 14 up Old Winchester Hill.

This summer the club have been training weekly in the sea and at the open air pool, and going on pub runs with Liss Runners and weekend bike rides. The club is now moving into the winter season, with muddy cross country running and club bike rides. Swimming training has resumed at Churcher’s College and the club also offer a weekly core session.
