PETERSFIELD Triathlon Club (PTC) enjoyed some impressive results at the Arundel Standard Distance Triathlon.
Arundel Lido, sitting just below the medieval Arundel Castle, hosted the Lezyene Triathlon – 800 metre swim, 37km bike ride and 9km run – and race conditions were good.
PTC claimed most of the prize winning positions, and almost completely swept the board in terms of results.
For the second consecutive year PTC’s Peter Younghusband was the overall winner with the fastest swim and bike split. He completed the event with an average bike speed of just under 40km an hour and a total time of one hour, 48 minutes and eight seconds. Coming in third place, and just one agonising second after the second place winner, was PTC’s David Reid, in one hour, 52 minutes and 25 seconds.
The club’s Jenny Philips came in second in the women’s race, in two hours, 20 minutes and three seconds, and prizes also went to club chairman Kim King for first super veteran in two hours, 29 minutes and 31 seconds, and Nicola Jordan first veteran finishing in two hours, 23 minutes and 53 seconds.
